Even if the rain was to clear by showtime, the fields and parking areas would not be ready for use.

The Rotary will still be barbecuing on the 14th, so if you or your family placed a dinner order, it is still good for the 14th. If you are unable to attend on November 14th and you placed an order, please email me (jon [at] deerparkdads.com) and we will arrange for a refund to be issued. If you can now attend due to the date change and wish to order dinner, you can still do so.

In addition, due to the time change that occurs on the November 2nd, we will be starting the events (serving dinner, face painting, etc.) at 5pm and the film will begin at around 6:45.

Horton Hears A Who

Get your blankets, lawn chairs, and FM Radio ready! Not So Scary Movie Night will be held November 14th @ 5:00pm. This year we are pleased to be able to show the 2008 version of ‘Horton Hears A Who’ under the stars before it is available for purchase on DVD.

This is a free event, but we will be selling popcorn, drinks, Italian Ice, and dinner. Dinner will be cooked by the Upper Tampa Bay Rotary. You can pre-order your dinner by filling out this form and returning it to the school with your student.

Also, we are looking for donations of stickers, Halloween/cartoon pencils, bags of candy, etc. to hand out to the kids before the movie begins. If you can spare any of these items, please drop them off in the Deer Park PTA office (Room 345) or send them to school with your Deer Park student. Please be sure to label the donations ‘Not So Scary Movie Night’.

Horton Hears A Who it rated G and stars the voices of Jim Carrey, Steve Carrell, Seth Rogen, and Carol Burnett.

The movie will begin at dark (approx. 6:45pm). The soundtrack of the movie will be simulcast via lowpower FM transmitter.

Join the Deer Park Dads Club for our first All Pro Dads Breakfast of the new school year.

DATE: Friday September 25th

TIME: 7-7:50AM
PLACE: Deer Park Elementary Cafeteria
DETAILS: Dads/Grandpas/Uncles/Father Figures bring your kids and join us for our monthly All Pro Dad Breakfast.  Breakfast will be available and activities will follow. All Pro Dad is designed to inspire and equip fathers to be actively involved in their children’s lives through activities, sharing, and having fun.

Breakfast will be supplied by the school cafeteria and is free to students and available for purchase by the dads (please bring cash).  Also, please take a moment and say thank you to the members of the cafeteria staff as they are opening for business ½ hour early just for our breakfast.

Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and drinks will be supplied courtesy of the Dads Club but additional side items/desserts are welcome.
